What Is Honor Flight?

memorial

Help Honor Flight DFW give veterans the thank-you they deserve with the Adopt-a-WWII-Veteran Challenge. Participating is easy! Click the card to the left to see veterans who represent the more than 400 deserving heroes on the waiting list for an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., to reflect at the memorials built in their honor. Select a card, and let us know you want to get involved. “Adopting” a veteran is pledging to raise $1,000, the cost of sending one veteran on the trip of a lifetime. Ask your friends, your employer, your church or scouting group – even your Facebook friends! – to help you on this important mission. It’s a tax-deductible donation to a 501(c)3 organization.

Honor Flight™ is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. We fly our heroes to Washington, DC to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – WW II survivors along with those other veterans that may be terminally ill.Honor Flight first flew in May 2005 with six small planes flying 12 WW II veterans, departing out of Springfield, Ohio.

Next Flight

Our next trip to Washington DC is scheduled for May 24-25, 2010.

Our Goal

Honor Flight™ of Dallas was established in September 2008 to bring this wonderful effort to the Dallas/Ft Worth/North Texas area, honor the service of the WWII Veterans in this region, and to take as many of them as possible to view THEIR memorial in the nation's capital.
